Magazine Damage

Is it possible for my Gen4 G21 to damage the magazines? I recently traded for an almost new (and it really was) Gen4 G21. shoots perfectly, however, I had bought a couple of factory magazines to add to my collections, and when shooting today, the mag I was using fell out after three rounds. Upon inspection, there was damage to the cut-out. This is the second mag to show this damage.
