G17 wouldn't cycle CCI shotshells

I've shot them many times out of my G26 and G19 with not a single hiccup. Fished some really snakey ponds today in the boonies and decided to tote my Gen G17 full of the CCI shot shells. Good thing I didn't need them. At the end of the day, decided to take out a few turtles. fired off the first shot and I didn't even notice that it didn't eject the spent casing. Next pull...nada. Racked slide to see empty sitting right there.
I guess the slide is too heavy on the G17. I've never had issues...
