Adaptor plate for Hollographic sight

Has anyone used an adaptor plate removing the rear sight... and installing a plate for Vortex Venom? Looking for a recommendation for a high quality plate that works without damaging the dovetail. I have wondered just how durable these are. My buddy put a lower end one on and made a mess of things.
